HI and thank you for clicking through to here.
Most of you will know me and what has recently happened to me, for those of you who are not aware of the situation…
4 weeks ago now my boys were in Bournemouth to visit me for the weekend. We all stayed at a hotel and I brought my work Mac with me so we could watch films at night. On Sunday the 2nd of November I got a call from the police at 9:30 in the morning, saying that my room in the house share has burned out. My first thought went out to the bespoke handmade urn which holds my son’s ashes, he was stillborn 29th May 2006.
I was in shock when the police collected me from the hotel to take me to see the damage. The first thing I noticed was my UPVC window warped and burnt. I could not believe what I was seeing when walking into my room with the remains of charred, burnt and soaked items strewn everywhere. I explained to the fire investigator about my boys urn and Thank GOD it was only smoke damage to it and it was not broken.
Unfortunately I lost pretty much everything else but the clothes on my back and it was very lucky I had my Mac (needed for my business) at the hotel. I have got 2 black bags and a box of clothes with some damage but that I may be able to save. I have just not been able to get them washed or taken to a launderette yet. I lost all the drawings and some teddies and other little priceless trinkets my boys have made me over the years. I know my 3 boys are still healthy and that the rest is just materialistic yet it still hurts to lose so much with sentimental value.
Over the last 4 weeks after the shock of finding out my room was set on fire by someone most likely breaking in with the intention of stealing my work computer (Investigation is still ongoing), I was offered a temporary place at my friend’s flat in Poole where I slept for a couple of days before going up North to visit my boys for a week.
On getting back I know I have a lot to sort out and the first thing I needed to sort was a place to stay to get myself on track again. My friend has a 2 bed flat and we spoke to the landlord and he is happy for me to take over the tenancy so when I sort out my finances then I will have at least 6 months in a nice place for the boys and I, somewhere for us to settle and rebuild.
Many people have been asking how they can help since this happened and for those of you who want to help, here is how you can…
As most of you know I run www.trustbizweb.co.uk and I truly love what I do by helping small businesses. At the moment I have no broadband or tethering facility and my pay as you go phone is costing me a lot in data usage to enable my work. I need to sort out internet as soon as possible if you have any ideas for the best package in my situation.
If you would like to help me I am in need of everything you need in a household from cuttlery and plates, pots and pans to a fridge, from a pillow to beds and everything else between – iron toaster kettle towels furniture. The most important things for me besides my boys is the ability to work and provide for them. Due to being homeless for over 9 months prior to getting the room in the flat share which was then targeted and burnt out, it is not easy to get a landline package from the service providers so if any of you can offer me advice on how to get my broadband sorted that will be very much appreciated.
Having no washing machine, if anybody lives in Poole area and I could use your washing machine THANK YOU THANK YOU. If you have any bigger items such as wash machine fridges freezers sofa’s etc for sale please do let me know, maybe I can figure something out to buy your old furniture or appliance.
Thinking back and reading back I have tears in my eyes yet I’m smiling knowing this is the start of my new journey. I believe that this fire as been out here to stop me in my tracks and make me realise I need to travel on a new journey. Most people know what has happened to me over the past 8 years and I really value you support and encouragement along the way. For me it is time to close that book. I have grown stronger through adversity and I will always cherish the memories I have. Now it is time to look ahead, enjoy and appreciate what I do have and look forward to where this journey is going to take me.
I am still working so if you run a business in need of WP modification re-development or if you need a book formatting for print / ebook or styling for Office Word documents and PowerPoint presentations then please get in touch.
I am happy to offer my services in exchange for your help with any of the things I need also.
I was and still am truly touched by the support and it really helped and kept me more level headed knowing that so many of you cared THANK YOU and when any of you are down in Bournemouth/Poole let me take you out for a coffee or drink.
I THANK YOU to all who have read this and offered support, help and have shared this with your network.
